Milanese Pizza Sandwich

This Milanese Pizza Sandwich recipe is fun and delicious. Start with thinly pounded veal cutlets and fry them until golden and cooked through. Ensure not to over cook the cutlets by heating the pan first and paying close attention. Grill the pizza dough in a grill pan or on a traditional grill for some extra delicious flavor. Load up the grilled crust with the cutlets, arugula, lemon sauce and top it with fresh Burrata.

Ingredients

1 lb veal cutlets pounded thinly
Salt and pepper
2 eggs beaten
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1 cup olive oil for frying
1/4 c butter melted Juice of one lemon
2 cups arugula
8 oz Burrata
I pizza dough store bought or homemade
Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
  2. Salt and pepper the cutlets and dip them in the egg wash then breadcrumbs.
  3. When the oil is very hot fry the cutlets until golden on each side and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Meanwhile roll out the dough and drizzle with olive oil. Fold it in half and transfer to a hot grill.
  5. Grill until golden on each side.
  6. Open the dough and top with the cutlets and drizzle with the lemon butter.
  7. Top with arugula and more lemon butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with the Burrata and a drizzle of olive oil.
  8. Close the sandwich and slice to serve.
